Kevin and Sue King
29400 SW Heater Road
Sherwood, OR 97140

Big Timber Alpacas resides among the tall firs on Parrett Mountain near Sherwood, Oregon, about 25 miles southwest of Portland. We love working with both experienced and new breeders located inside and outside the US to provide them the best alpacas to suit their needs.
Our breeding program focuses on proven elite white and color genetics to produce champion alpaca bloodlines. Our mission is to produce the highest quality alpaca seed stock: conformationally correct and healthy; uniform, dense and finely fibered, good-natured alpacas. We are proud that 100% of our white foundation herd has Top 1%- 5% rankings in the 2021 EPDs. In addition, 100% of our color herd including blacks and browns has at least Top 25% EPD rankings. We believe in using quantitative data tools, including histograms, EPDs and skin biopsies, to measure the success of our breeding program and improve our seed stock with every generation. We shear and test all our alpacas every year, including Suri juveniles, to accurately assess annual fiber trait progress and to utilize the fiber in our products. We use the Suri Network S.H.I.P tool to independently evaluate our Suri alpacas by outside experts. Data-driven breeding decisions ensure quality results and drive our breeding program advancements.

Big Timber alpacas compete in top national shows winning championships, judges choice awards and “Advanced Fleece” awards. We are honored to be the recipient of the 2020 AOA Light Suri Male Supreme Champion, the 2019 AOA Heirloom Breeder Cup and 2019 Suri Network Diamond Breeder Cup Awards, and the 2018 Futurity Reserve Suri Small Breeder Award.

Stachowski Alpacas LLC

Anthony Stachowski DVM
PO Box 828
Mantua, OH
(330) 697-3942

In February 1984, Stachowski Alpacas purchased 25 alpacas in Catskills New York from the very first importation. Anthony was one of the founding fathers of the breed registry and show association. He insisted that age and sex classes be divided by COLOR. For over 38 years, Champions of all colors are found in the 100’s of rolling acres at Stachowski Alpacas.

In 1995 Mary and I joined the Peruvian Importers in selecting “the best of the best” from cooperatives in the highlands of Peru including Alianza, Accoyo, Sollocota and others. Detailed notes taken on each alpaca selected are now found on Openherd. Thousands of alpacas were evaluated each year (P3, P4, P5, P6 and CP1). Imports exhibited exceptional traits of fineness, density, uniformity, and character which catapulted my herd in the show ring and breeding barn. Stachowski Alpacas grew into a marketing powerhouse with the Peruvian Classic Alpaca Sale held each October.

Anthony also holds veterinary seminars across the country for private farms and associations including the popular “What you can do without the Vet.” These seminars include blood draw, dentistry, injection techniques, ultrasonography, foot care, skin issues, and much more!

Today Stachowski Alpacas continues to show and breed approximately 300 alpacas to banner winners. For 38 years Stachowski Alpacas motto “Your Success is Our Success” offers new and fellow breeders proven quality genetics, veterinary guidance, and nutritional support. We welcome visits to our farm in Mantua, Ohio, and inquiries to our website at sa@alpacaworld.com and sales listing on Openherd.

Memory M-Acres Farm is located in the New Jersey countryside on approximately 10 acres and is owned and operated by Lisa Collura and Bob Figular.

When we originally came into this industry in 2012, the choice was mostly based on what we considered to be quality of life considerations. Looking back on that decision, we could not have been more right! Whether standing in the ring waiting for a Judge to make their final decision or watching a child see an alpaca for the first time, the feeling we get is indescribable. Raising, breeding, and showing our animals has brought such joy into our lives.

When making breeding decisions, we utilize SHIP scores, Histograms, Biopsies, and Show Results. Using a combination of science and experience, we continually strive to improve our herd.

While working with some of the country’s top farms, our foundation females were carefully selected and have produced multiple Supreme Champions and Judges’ Choice awards.

In 2019 we purchased 100% ownership of MMALP Goldstar’s Vader, GLR Picasso, and a Herdsire prospect National Supreme Champion RDE’s Maserati Limited Edition.

Although our Herdsires are closed, we have several yearlings and bred females available for the discerning buyer.

Majestic Meadows Alpacas & Boutique is a family-owned and operated business located in Medina, OH on approximately 20 acres. Our love for animals and desire for an investment the whole family could enjoy prompted us to look into the investment potential of raising alpacas and we’ve never looked back!

In 1994 we purchased our first alpaca and since then we’ve included numerous champion-winning and champion-producing alpacas. The alpaca business is everything we ever wanted in a family business allowing us time for family life and time to create a wonderful family business we can all be a part of. We’re proud to say our selective breeding program has blessed us with multiple champion winning and ribbon winning alpacas.

Our goal from the outset has been to be the best we can in both quality of alpacas we produce, sell and raise and in the service we provide. Maintaining that high standard has given us the advantage of producing multiple award-winning alpacas and the opportunity to meet and build life-long friendships with alpaca breeders from across the U.S. We’ve had many successes in the alpaca business over the years and credit much of our success to our wonderful beginning and continued goal to breed and raise the best alpacas.

There truly is no other business we could have ventured into that would have given us the best of both worlds, time for our family and life-long friendships we’ve forged in this business, and the opportunity to start and create a successful business on our own.

We fell in love with the living art that is the Suri alpaca, and today we share a farm with over 100 Suris in Concordia, Missouri. We are surrounded by the grace and beauty of Suri alpacas. We make breeding decisions carefully, using top stud males and females who have the characteristics to continue improvement of the Suri breed. We don’t want to just breed. We want to improve. Every year. We gather data from a variety of sources to help us make breeding decisions.

  • Each year we have fiber samples analyzed from our animals to determine fineness, consistency, and comfort factor.
  • We have our herd classified in the Suri Herd Improvement Program (SHIP) every three years or so and use information from that classification to identify strengths and weaknesses of each animal.
  • We participate in the Alpaca Owners Association EPD program, so are able to see how our animals rank amid others in the country in various fiber characteristics.
  • Finally, we show our animals at alpaca shows to see how they stack up to other high-quality alpacas and get feedback from alpaca judges.

We breed and sell animals, both to those who already have alpacas and to those who are just starting out on their alpaca journey. We specialize is helping new farms start up. We provide education to introduce newcomers to alpacas, consult in farm set-up and herd management activities. We work with prospective owners to define their goals, select alpacas to match their goals, and then provide ongoing consulting and mentoring.

While breeding and selling animals is our primary focus, we also provide a variety of agritourism services, including tours, bringing alpacas to weddings and other events, and special appearances at nursing homes, senior centers, and schools. Happy Hounds Alpaca Ranch is located in beautiful Central Oregon surrounded by numerous mountain peaks and vast irrigated hay fields. Owned and operated by Laurie McCallum and Dillon Hoffman, H2R was started in 2010 on a small ranch in eastern Colorado. We quickly outgrew this property and decided an upgrade was in order. Our goal from the beginning was to acquire an elite group of top-quality dams and breed those to the best herdsires we could find that exemplify incredible phenotype while pairing impressive fleece qualities. We also focus on providing the highest quality nutrition possible in order to grow big, happy, healthy alpacas, all while maintaining these excellent fiber traits. Since its inception in 2012, our mission has been to produce the highest quality suri alpacas in the United States. The ranch is managed by Zach Hackett and his wife Jessica, who has over 13 years of experience working with some of the largest alpaca farms in the country. Her experience has been vital in our maturation as an alpaca farm, and we continue to improve the quality of our herd year after year. We were able to acquire one of the most prestigious alpaca herds in the United States — Great Lakes Ranch. This addition doubled our herd size and we jumped light years ahead of our breeding goals. We’ve been fortunate enough to win the Futurity Breeder of the Year for medium size farms for the last three years. Not only do we strive to be competitive in the show ring, but we also endeavor to use every available resource the alpacas give us. On a daily basis we collect manure, compost it, and then use it not only on our own farm, but sell it as fertilizer to various agricultural companies as well. We also harvest and process our fiber to turn into yarn, fabric and hypoallergenic clothing items.
